• Do you have to pay for sports in Bremen?

  No, not necessarily. Especially for teenagers there are various options that are free. In addition there are many sports clubs or sports centers that offer a special provision for refugees. Just ask them!

• Do I have to bring anything to my sport?

  Usually people wear suitable sports clothing, bring a drink and maybe a towel. In addition you often have the possibility to take a shower there. In this case you need to bring everything you need for your shower.

  Otherwise you can always ask the organization directly whether you need to bring anything.

• Is there sports at school?

  Yes, usually sports is compulsory at schools in Bremen. In lessons various different types of sports are taught so that the children/teenagers can get to know different options and are challenged enough.

• Are women and men doing sports together?

  This differs. Team sports are usually played separately, there are female teams and male teams. Or there are special offers for either men or women. Other types of sport however are played together, for example swimming or athletics.
