Basic qualification in child day care (on-the-job training) – evening course

This qualification is just right for you if you already work with children as a childminder. It is part of the basic qualification for childminding.

Once you have started working as a childminder, the preparatory training is followed by the on-the-job basic qualification. Take advantage of this opportunity to reflect on your work in a group under expert guidance and deepen your skills. Ask questions, share experiences, and benefit from ideas and solutions for specific cases and challenges in your everyday work.

You can participate in the in-service basic qualification in child day care…

… if you work at least 15 hours per week as a childminder…
if you have already participated in preparatory basic training for childminding

Topics covered in the course include:

Discussing current issues and practical experiences in childminding
Working on specific cases and challenging situations from your everyday work and developing solutions together
Deepening and expanding on topics covered in the preparatory qualification
Addressing new topics that are relevant to you and your work (e.g., Bremen learning and development documentation, bias-conscious education and upbringing)

In addition to classroom instruction, the on-the-job qualification also includes self-study units and concludes with a final assessment.
