Would you like to provide professional childcare in your own home or work as an assistant in a nursery? This course will give you the theoretical and practical qualifications you need!
We will prepare you for your future work as a childcare provider: In class and during your internship, we will work with you to develop the specialist knowledge and skills you need to professionally care for children in your own home, in the child’s family, or in a nursery. The aim is to enable you to meet the educational, organizational, and legal requirements of working as a childminder with children aged 0-3 years.

Topics include:
Building relationships with children and parents
Understanding and supporting children’s education and development
Understanding and supporting children’s play
Initial contact with parents, admission of the child, settling in
Child welfare
Health, hygiene, and nutrition
Legal principles, e.g., funding mandate and children’s rights
Setting up a childcare facility
The qualification is based on the Qualification Handbook for Child Day Care (QHB).
You will have lessons with supplementary self-study units and do an internship in a nursery or child day care center.
The preparatory qualification ends with a final examination.
