In “Apotheken” (pharmacies) you can buy medicine. The pharmacists will be happy to help you if you have questions.

There are pharmacies in every district. You can recognize them by the logo pictured below. Most pharmacies are open Monday to Saturday during the day.×285.jpg

On one hand there are prescription drugs for which you need a prescription from the doctor. Usually you don’t have to pay for prescription medicines. You can never pass on prescription medicines to other people.  Not even when those people show similar symptoms.

On the other hand there are prescription-free drugs. These are for example pain killers for headaches or tablets for a sore throat. You have to pay for prescription-free drugs yourself.

There are emergency pharmacies that open in the evening, at night and on a Sunday. You can find them if you click on this link Not-Apotheken
