Documenting experiences of discrimination

“Keine Randnotiz” is an online project.

It makes a note of the ‘bad things’ that have happened to people and documents them on www.keine-randnotiz.de on a city map and in a list. These ‘bad things’ are forms of discrimination that are motivated by racism, anti-Semitism, homophobia and ableism, among other things.

For example, these ‘bad things’ include:

  • Insults
  • Threats
  • Attacks
  • Unfair checks by the police carried out on the basis of skin colour
  • Discriminatory stickers and pictures on walls
  • And much more.

They want everyone to know what has happened. They don’t want these ‘bad things’ to be trivialised. They don’t want the victims to be blamed. They demonstrate that bad things are prolific in Bremen and Bremerhaven. So that nobody can argue that discrimination doesn’t exist here. Or that the victims of these attacks are to blame.
