Initial orientation courses
In an initial orientation course (EOK), you will receive important tips and information about life in Germany and learn your first helpful words and phrases in German. The topics covered in the EOK are designed to make your initial period and everyday life in Germany easier. These include, for example, customs and traditions in Germany, local orientation and mobility, housing, work, health, values, and living together.
To participate, you must not (yet) be able to attend an integration course and must not be of school age. Participation in an EOK is free of charge, as the courses are funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Homeland (BMI). You only have to pay for your own travel expenses to the course location. In Bremen, the Volkshochschule (adult education center) offers EOK courses, among other things.
