Further training in English for teaching staff – PBW

English is used to communicate with parents or guardians at many daycare centres.

If you haven’t spoken English for a long time, it can be difficult to communicate in an unfamiliar language. Our extra-occupational conversation course “English for Teaching Staff” provides you with the tools to improve your English language skills so that you feel more confident having typical conversations with English speakers.

Prerequisites:

• You work as a member of teaching staff at a daycare centre
• You have a basic knowledge of the English language (e.g. “School English”)

Content:

• Introduction – Getting to know each other: Talking about children, hobbies, daily life, the weather
• Talking about resilience, health and attachment
• Talking about a child’s development
• Talking about literacy and media
• Talking about children with special needs
• Talking about participation: Working with parents
