Equal rights for women – ZGF

The “Zentralstelle für die Verwirklichung der Gleichberechtigung der Frau” (Bremen Central Office for Realising Equal Rights for Women or ZGF) is a regional authority. It has the legal mandate to enforce the constitutional requirement of equal rights in the state of Bremen. It comments on proposed legislation and suggests measures to improve women’s lives. It is also the central refuge for all women who feel discriminated against on the basis of their gender, and provides support. The ZGF also supports women’s and girls’ organisations with their work and raising awareness of women’s issues.
